In my senior year, i took a college writing class. In that class we were assigned to write many different kinds of papers such as persuasive papers, research papers, and also an Abstract paper. While i was learning how to write many different types of papers, I was also learning and discussing about many new topics that i had never really thought hard about before. One topic in particular was abortion. I had always seemed to be on the fence with abortion and thought it was the individuals choice, not mine. But one day, my teacher handed out an article about partial birth abortion; by having more information that i had never known about before, made me interested and realized how against abortion i really was. I realized that sometimes, teenagers especially, need more information that interests them before they will actually take the time to think critically about a certain topic. Because of this class, i realized that when you read many opinions of a topic, and then think about it deeply and find your own opinion, it makes it a lot easier to persuade your own audience.
